LOANS: LENDING TRENDS IN 3 MAJOR MARKETS

The period January 1, 2017 up through December 1, 2017 originated total volume of $344.04 billion in loans across the United States, UK/ Europe and Asia with a total volume of  135,4419 loans.

Loan benchmarks are updated monthly and quarterly.

The total value of loans originated for the period up through Q3 2017 was $146.5 billion USD. Asia led the growth in the market with $145.5 billion. North America trailed far behind with $2.61 billion originated followed by Europe with $388.6 million.

There were 546,219 loans that originated across North America, Europe and Asia for Q3 2017, A strong representation by Asia leading with 318,485 loan originations, 186,284 in North America and Europe fell behind with total number to 41,450. It is worth noting the average loan size in North America and Europe is larger than the Asia market, but the sheer number of loans adds heft to its ability to take the lead in market value while displaying lower interest rates.

Active Loans

The total number of loans that originated in the period was 546,219 across North America, Europe and Asia. There are 158,171 active loans currently, Asia volumes surpass North America and Europe with a whopping 87,441 and 57,563 (NA) and 13,167 (EU), respectively. Interest rates are lower in Asia and repayment terms are less than 1 year and however, loan amounts are smaller. Conversely, the North America and Europe show an increase in loan amounts while interest rates trend higher on loans with longer repayment terms of 36 months and 36 months.
